Sarah F. Thomas was listed as a second lieutenant in the 1942 yearbook. She was from Marion, Alabama and is believed to have been born around 1920. She is also believed to have been a nursing student at Hampton Institute in Hampton, Virginia. According to the base newspaper, LT Thomas was among the first of three Tuskegee Army “Negro nurses to carry services to foreign soil to Liberia” on April 4, 1943. She retired from the military on November 30, 1946.
